Scope
GB 46520-2025 is the English-translated version of 建筑用绝热材料及制品燃烧性能安全技术规范.
GB 46520-2025 is the mandatory national code for the fire safety of thermal insulation materials and products used to insulate building walls, roofs and floors.
It classifies them into homogeneous products (inorganic or organic) and composite insulation products, and sets their required burning behavior classes to GB 8624: class A for inorganic homogeneous products and inorganic metal-faced sandwich panels, at least B1 for phenolic foam and at least B2 for other organic and composite products, with GB 55037 also applying where the place of use is known.
For use inside assembly occupancies it further requires a smoke production class of at least s2, flaming droplets class of at least d1 and smoke toxicity class of at least t1.
Products are tested as a whole, with on-site foamed or processed products tested on specimens made to the manufacturer's documents; the document also gives the conformity assessment rule, the marking required on packaging and on the product itself (including flame retardant content for site-foamed organic raw materials), and an informative annex listing examples of each product class.
It is a first edition, issued on 5 October 2025 and in force since 1 August 2026. Classification: ICS 91.100.60, CCS Q 25. The document runs to 11 pages, delivered complete in English translation.
