1 Scope

GB 46039-2025 is the Chinese national standard on safety technical specification for concrete admixtures, in the field of construction materials and building. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 1 August 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 August 2026. This document specifies the safety technical requirements and test methods for concrete admixtures (hereinafter referred to as "admixtures"). This document applies to admixtures for cement concrete.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 8075 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Added before or during concrete mixing to improve the properties of fresh concrete and (or) hardened concrete. Materials whose addition amount does not exceed 5% of the mass of cementitious materials.

3.2 Release of ammonia emittedammonia Ammonia released by admixtures in alkaline environments.

3.3 residual formaldehyde Formaldehyde existing in the admixture in a free state and formaldehyde depolymerized from polyoxymethylene.
