Scope

GB 10055-2007 is the English-translated version of 施工升降机安全规程.

GB 10055-2007 sets the safety requirements to be observed in the design, manufacture, installation and use of builder's hoists as defined in GB/T 10054-2005, covering both rack-and-pinion and wire-rope types.

It deals in turn with the complete machine (overturning stability, mast verticality limits by erected height, marking and discard of worn mast sections, 0.7 m/s maximum speed during erection and maintenance), the foundation and the ground-level protective enclosure, landings and landing doors, the cage, the counterweight and its guide rails, wire ropes and sheaves (safety factors, minimum diameters, diameter ratios), the rack-and-pinion and wire-rope drive systems and their brakes, guiding and buffer devices, safety devices, tying of the mast and the electrical system.

Clauses 3.2, 8.2.8, 9.2.1 and 9.3.6 a) are recommended; all other provisions are mandatory.

It replaces GB 10055-1996: the main changes are the new title, added mast verticality tolerances, marking and discard rules for mast sections by chord wall thickness, compulsory buffers on passenger-and-goods hoists and goods hoists of 400 kg and above, mesh opening limits for enclosures and doors, separate requirements for full-height and reduced-height landing doors, and a slow-down switch for hoists faster than 0.7 m/s.

It was issued in March 2007 and has been in force since 1 October 2007. Classification: ICS 91.220, CCS P97. The document runs to 11 pages, delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword

Clauses 3.2, 8.2.8, 9.2.1 and 9.3.6 a) of this standard are recommended; the remainder are mandatory.

This standard replaces GB 10055-1996, Safety rules for builder's hoists.

Compared with GB 10055-1996, the main changes are as follows:

- the title of the standard has been changed to "Safety code for builder's hoist";

- the installation verticality deviation of the axis of the hoist mast relative to the horizontal reference plane of the base has been added;

- a requirement has been added that mast sections with different chord tube wall thicknesses shall be marked;

- a requirement has been added that a mast section shall be scrapped or downgraded when the wall thickness of its chord tubes is reduced by corrosion or wear;

- buffers have been made compulsory on passenger-and-goods hoists and on goods hoists of 400 kg and above;

- the travel speed of the cage during erection, dismantling and maintenance has been specified;

- requirements on the mesh openings and opening sizes of woven-mesh enclosures and doors have been added;

- the requirements on the clear height of landing doors have been divided into full-height landing doors and reduced-height landing doors;

- a requirement has been added that hoists with a rated lifting speed above 0.7 m/s shall be fitted with a slow-down switch;

- the requirements on the method of connecting wire ropes have been deleted, and requirements have been added on the terminations or fittings used when a reserve length of wire rope is stored.

This standard was proposed by the China Machinery Industry Federation.

This standard is under the jurisdiction of the Beijing Research Institute of Construction Mechanization.
