Scope

GB 23525-2009 is the English-translated version of 座板式单人吊具悬吊作业安全技术规范.

GB 23525-2009 specifies the design principles, technical requirements, test methods, safety rules and safety management of suspended work with personal board-type sling equipment (the seat-board, or bosun's chair, device) used for cleaning, decorating and maintaining building facades; it does not apply to installation or lifting work at height.

The equipment is defined as an anchor device, a suspended descent system (working rope, hand-controlled descender, connectors, seat board with suspension, lining and waist straps) and an independent fall protection system (anchor line, self-locking device, lanyard and fall arrest safety belt).

Design principles limit the total weight to 165 kg and the working weight to 100 kg, require anchor devices of at least twice the total weight, one person per anchor device and separate anchors for working rope and anchor line; technical requirements cover rope splicing and discard criteria, seat board and strap dimensions, a 15 kN static and 6 kN peak dynamic limit for the fall protection system, a 0.5 m locking distance, component test loads of 22 kN, 15 kN and 8 kN, and roof fixing frames with a safety factor and anti-overturning ratio of at least 2.

Test methods include a static test with a 100 kg sandbag and whole-system tests to GB/T 6096-2009. It is a first edition with all technical content mandatory. Issued on 13 April 2009, in force since 1 December 2009.
