1 Subject content and scope of application

This standard specifies the technical requirements, packaging, marking, storage and transport, and sampling of lubricating grease for food machinery.

This standard applies to odourless and tasteless white lubricating grease made by thickening food-grade white oil with calcium fatty acid soap and adding additives. All of its raw materials shall be safe components specified in the pharmacopoeia or in pharmacology, and dedicated equipment shall be used in its production.

Products conforming to this standard have good water resistance, rust resistance and lubricity, and are suitable for the lubrication of processing, packaging and conveying equipment in contact with food; the maximum service temperature is 100 °C.

3 Technical requirements

Appearance: white smooth paste, no abnormal odour; sensory inspection.

Dropping point, °C, not lower than: 135; GB/T 4929.

Worked cone penetration, 0.1 mm: 265 to 295; GB/T 269.

Oil separation on steel mesh (100 °C, 24 h), %, not more than: 5.0; SH/T 0324.

Evaporation loss (99 °C, 22 h), %, not more than: 3.0; GB/T 7325.

Corrosion (T2 copper strip, 100 °C, 24 h): no green or black discoloration of the copper strip; GB/T 7326 Method B.

Water washout (38 °C, 1 h), %, not more than: 10; SH/T 0109.

Anti-wear properties (75 °C, 1 200 r/min, 392 N, 60 min), wear scar diameter d, mm, not more than: 0.7; SH/T 0204.

Corrosion prevention (52 °C, 48 h), grade, not more than: 1; GB/T 5018.

Prolonged worked cone penetration (100 000 strokes), rate of change of 0.1 mm, %, not more than: 25; GB/T 269 and note.

Prolonged worked cone penetration (100 000 strokes, with 10% salt water added), rate of change of 0.1 mm, %, not more than: 25.

4 Packaging, marking, storage and transport

Packaging, marking, storage, transport and delivery acceptance of this product are carried out in accordance with SH 0164.

5 Sampling

Sampling is carried out in accordance with SH 0229; 2.5 kg is taken for inspection and as a retained sample.
