Scope
YY/T 1119-2008 is the English-translated version of 医用高分子制品术语.
YY/T 1119-2008 is the vocabulary of medical polymer products, the terms used for devices made of polymer materials that come into direct or indirect contact with the human body.
Its basic terms separate the catheter, inserted by puncture or incision, from tubing that never enters tissue and from the cannula that reaches the gut, oesophagus or airways.
It goes on to name components such as the X-ray opaque component, injection member, sampling site, valve, one-way valve and release valve. Terms for artificial organs are left out, and the definitions, collected mainly from national and pharmaceutical industry standards, are meant for naming polymer products and their parts.
It replaces YY/T 1119-1999, itself a revision of ZB C48005-1989. Issued on 17 October 2008, it has applied since 1 January 2010.

1 Scope
This standard specifies the use made of medical polymer materials and polymer products for medical term direct or indirect contact with the human body. This standard The term does not include artificial organs.
Note: This standard mainly reproduces the relevant national standards and terms that appear in the pharmaceutical industry standard, the definition given to the term applies only to medical polymer products and Its means for guiding the product or component name.
2 Basic terms
2.1 Catheter
By puncture or incision to insert the hose body.
2.2 Tubing
Do not insert the hose human tissue.
2.3 Cannula
Mucous membrane contact with the body or inserted intestine, esophagus, respiratory or other parts of the hose, the input liquid, gas and liquid nutrition into the body through which the Or body fluid from the body.
