YY/T 0317-2007 sets the general specifications for medical therapeutic X-ray equipment as a recommended standard of the Chinese medical device industry. It gives the classification and the composition of therapy X-ray machines, together with the requirements placed on them and the test methods used to verify those requirements.

The machines in its field run on AC mains supply and have a nominal X-ray tube voltage from 10 kV to 400 kV. It cites GB 5579-1985, GB 9706.1-1995, GB 9706.10-1997, YY 0076-1992 and YY/T 0291-2007, several of these being the safety standards for medical electrical equipment.

The standard replaced YY 0317-2000. Issued on 31 January 2007, it has applied since 1 January 2008.
