Introduction

Methylamine is a colorless gas, similar to the smell of ammonia, soluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether. Mainly used for rubber vulcanization accelerator, a dye, Medicine, pesticides, and other synthetic surfactants. Methylamine main origin for China's Beijing, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Sichuan and other provinces and cities. the Lord to importing countries for the United States.

In accordance with the United Nations "on the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods Model Regulations" (UNRTDG), anhydrous methylamine easily classified as a Class 2.1 Combustible gas, UN number 1061; methylamine aqueous primary hazard classified as a Category 3 flammable liquids, dangerous times classified as Class 8 corrosive Substance, UN number 1235. Anhydrous methylamine extremely flammable, mixed with air can form explosive mixtures, contact heat, sparks or flame oxidation Agent combustible explosion. Gas is heavier than air diffusion along the ground and easy to accumulate in low-lying, fire source will fire back. Methylamine aqueous solution with strong Strong irritant and corrosive. Inhalation can cause laryngitis, bronchitis, bronchial pneumonia, can cause severe pulmonary edema, respiratory distress syndrome and death; Inhalation of high concentrations cause spasm of the glottis, laryngeal edema and soon died of suffocation. It can cause respiratory tract burns. Eye and skin have a strong thorn Shock and corrosive, it can cause severe burns. Oral solution can cause mouth, pharynx, esophagus burns.

In March 2011 the State Council issued the "dangerous chemical safety regulations" [591 State Council Decree] provides for inspection and quarantine departments Responsible for the import and export of hazardous chemicals and their packaging implementation of the inspection. To ensure the effective inspection and quarantine to carry out related business, regulate the import and export of anhydrous Methylamine and methylamine solution testing procedures, development of this standard.
