QC/T 30-2004 is the English-translated version of 机动车用电喇叭技术条件.
QC/T 30-2004 is a recommended standard of the Chinese automotive industry covering electric horns for motor vehicles, that is electromagnetic vibrating sound emitters fed from the vehicle direct current supply.
It gives terms and definitions and sets requirements, test methods, inspection rules and provisions for marking, packaging, storage and safekeeping. It applies to vehicles of categories M, N, L3, L4 and L5, and horns for other motor vehicles may be handled in the same way.
Devices that sound a succession of different frequencies on priority vehicles such as police cars, ambulances, fire engines and engineering rescue vehicles are excluded.
It quotes GB 15742-2001, GB 18655-2002, QC/T 72 and QC/T 413-2002, and replaces QC/T 30-1992. Issued on 10 February 2004, it has applied since 1 August 2004.

QC/T 30-2004 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 10 February 2004 and has been in force since 1 August 2004.
2 Scope
This standard is a recommended standard of the Chinese automotive industry covering electric horns for motor vehicles, that is electromagnetic vibrating sound emitters fed from the vehicle direct current supply. It gives terms and definitions and sets requirements, test methods, inspection rules and provisions for marking, packaging, storage and safekeeping.
