Scope
QB/T 1653-2023 is the English-translated version of 聚氯乙烯(PVC)注塑凉鞋、拖鞋.
QB/T 1653-2023 is the Chinese light-industry standard for PVC injection-moulded sandals and slippers, the plastic footwear moulded from polyvinyl chloride resin with plasticizers, other additives and colorants. It gives manufacturers, retailers and inspection bodies one set of acceptance criteria: general requirements, appearance, dimensional deviation between the two shoes of a pair, physical and mechanical properties, and restricted substances, with the test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation and storage. Shoes are classified as foamed or non-foamed by production process, and as sandals or slippers by use. Footwear for daily wear by children aged 3 and under (shoe size not greater than 170 mm) is excluded. The test methods draw on the GB/T 3903 whole-shoe tests, including flexing resistance and slip performance, and on QB/T 4340 for total heavy metals. Issued by MIIT on 21 April 2023 and applicable since 1 November 2023, it replaces QB/T 1653-1992.
