NB/T 25043.8-2016 is Part 8 of a recommended Chinese energy industry specification for erecting the conventional island and balance of plant of nuclear power stations, and it covers thermal insulation and painting.

It lays down the technical requirements for carrying out and maintaining insulation and paintwork on the conventional island and its auxiliary facilities. The part applies to new, extended and rebuilt plants with a single unit capacity of 600 MW and above, while smaller plants may follow it by reference.

It does not cover insulation of ventilation and air conditioning equipment and ducts, nor anti-corrosion work on civil structural parts and directly buried pipes.
