NB/T 20449-2017 is the recommended Chinese energy industry standard giving the design criteria for the fuel oil system of the emergency diesel generator of a nuclear power plant.

Written for pressurized water reactor plants, it covers the system function and classification, the process and equipment design requirements and the requirements for testing, inspection and maintenance.

Its reach runs from the main fuel storage tank to the interface with the diesel generator, that interface included, but stops short of the equipment mounted on the generator body.

Fuel systems of non-safety diesel generators may be designed with reference to it. Among the documents quoted are GB 252, GB 5908, GB 12158 and NB/T 20001. Issued on 1 April 2017, it has applied since 1 October 2017.
