Scope
NB/T 20432-2017 is the English-translated version of 核电厂安全重要仪表正常和预计运行事件工况工艺流管内或管旁放射性连续监测设备.
Process stream radioactivity monitors that matter to safety in nuclear power plants are covered by NB/T 20432-2017, a recommended Chinese energy industry standard modified from IEC 60768-2009.
It gives criteria for the design, selection, testing, calibration and functional placement of equipment measuring radioactive material in process flows during normal operation and anticipated operational events.
It concerns monitors whose detector sits in the process stream or close to it, with the field of view facing a pipe or tank directly, and not monitors that measure a sampled portion of the fluid remotely.
Process stream monitoring after an accident falls outside it. Among the quoted standards are GB/T 156-2007, GB 4208-2008, GB/T 12726.1-2013, GB/T 13625, GB/T 15474 and GB/T 20138-2006. Issued on 1 April 2017, it has applied since 1 October 2017.
