NB/T 20397-2017 is the Chinese energy industry standard that gives the overall technical requirements for prefabricating and installing the nuclear island pipe supports and hangers of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.

It follows a support or hanger through the whole route from the state in which the material arrives to the completion of installation, setting general requirements for support and hanger materials, for prefabrication both in the factory and in the site workshop, for installation, welding, inspection and coating, and for packing, transport and storage.

Functional parts such as dampers, spring boxes, constant hangers and standard fasteners stay outside it, since their manufacture is not covered. Among the documents it cites are GB/T 228, GB/T 700, GB/T 713, GB/T 1591, GB/T 8162 and GB/T 19001. Issued on 10 February 2017, it has applied since 1 July 2017.
