NB/T 11114-2023 sets general requirements for coal and gas outburst early warning systems, which collect warning and hidden danger information, analyse it automatically, determine the danger level and issue warning signals.
It specifies how such systems are classified, what they are composed of and the technical requirements they must meet.
Its definitions cover early warning indicators, warning levels ranked and marked by colour, hidden dangers arising from unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviour and management gaps, and outburst precursors such as abnormal sounds in the coal and bulging coal walls.
It applies to the design, construction and use of these systems. Issued on 6 February 2023, it has applied since 6 August 2023.

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Coal and gas outburst early warning system
It can dynamically collect coal and gas outburst warning or hidden danger information, and automatically analyze the possibility and changes of coal and gas outburst disasters.
A system that automatically determines the danger level of coal and gas outbursts, and issues warning signals in a timely manner.
3.2 Early warning indicator
Reflect the characteristics of coal and gas outburst influencing factors, omens or hidden dangers, and determine the early warning level of coal and gas outburst through its analysis to issue Parameters for the alert.
3.3 Early warning level
Classification units classified according to the severity of coal and gas outburst hazards, with high and low order, and marked with specific colors.
3.4 Hidden danger of coal and gas outburst
Various unsafe states and human unsafe behaviors that may lead to coal and gas outburst accidents in the coal mine production process and management deficiencies.
3.5 Outburst precursor
Various abnormal phenomena in the working face before the coal and gas outburst occurred (such as the sound of coal cannons, injection holes, top drilling, outer bulging of coal walls, slag falling, tiles, etc:)
