1 Foreword

JB/T 8801-2017 was issued by MIIT on 9 January 2017 and has been in force since 1 July 2017.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8801-1998.

2 Scope

This standard is the Chinese machinery industry specification for machining centres. It sets the requirements that govern their design, their manufacture and their acceptance. It applies to machine tools with three numerically controlled linear axes, or with four numerically controlled axes made up of the linear axes X, Y and Z with strokes up to 2000 mm together with one rotary axis; the text calls them machine tools. The standard is a recommended one, classified J50 in China and 25.040.10 internationally, and it replaces JB/T 8801-1998. Among the standards it quotes are GB 5226.1-2008, GB/T 9061-2006, GB 15760-2004, GB/T 16769-2008 and GB/T 18400.1-2010.
