JB/T 8635-2014 is the English-translated version of 防腐密封型低压成套开关设备和控制设备.

JB/T 8635-2014 is the Chinese machinery industry standard for corrosion-resistant sealed low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. It provides terms and definitions for this equipment, sets out the types of corrosion considered, the environmental conditions, the technical requirements and the testing to be performed.

Its provisions cover assemblies with a rated voltage not exceeding 1000 V, and it is classified K31 domestically and 29.120.60 internationally.

The standard builds on IEC 61439-1-2011 and cites GB 4208, GB/T 2423.10, GB/T 5169.11-2006, GB/T 20138 and GB/T 20641, along with ISO 178, ISO 179, ISO 4892-2 and a group of IEC documents including IEC 60068-2-2, IEC 60068-2-11, IEC 60085, IEC 60216 and IEC 60695-11-5.

It replaces JB/T 8635-1997. Issued on 6 May 2014, it has applied since 1 October 2014.
