JB/T 8431-2017 was issued by MIIT on 7 November 2017 and has been in force since 1 April 2018.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8431-1996.
2 Scope
This standard is the Chinese machinery industry standard covering steels for hot forging dies. It lays down the requirements for the steel used in the working parts of hot forging dies, together with the inspection the material undergoes and the rules for its marking and packaging.
