Natural environmental conditions in the tropics are described by JB/T 4160-2013, a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard written for electrical products. It sets out the environmental conditions of the tropical zone, which it divides into hot and humid, sub-humid and dry heat areas and identifies in its Figure 1. Those conditions are meant for general-purpose electrical products used in the tropics as delimited by GB/T 4797.1. The document replaces the earlier edition JB/T 4160-1999 and belongs to class A21 of the Chinese classification and to 19.020 of the international one. It quotes GB/T 4797.5 and GB/T 4797.6, and it was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
