1 Foreword

JB/T 3855-2008 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 1 February 2008 and has been in force since 1 July 2008.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 3855-1996.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for high-voltage AC vacuum circuit-breakers. It sets out the common requirements for vacuum circuit-breakers with a rated voltage of 3.6 kV and above at a rated frequency of 50 Hz, covering service conditions, ratings, design and construction, type tests and factory tests, guidance on selection, transport and storage, safety, and effects on the environment. The standard replaces JB/T 3855-1996, and among the standards it quotes are GB 1984-2003, GB/T 11022-1999, JB/T 8738-2008 and IEC 62271-110-2006. Issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it is catalogued as K43 and 29.130.10.
