Scope
JB/T 12530.4-2015 is the English-translated version of 塑料焊缝无损检测方法 第4部分：超声检测.
Part 4 of JB/T 12530, published in 2015, deals with the ultrasonic examination of welded joints in thermoplastics. The machinery industry standard sets terms and definitions for the ultrasonic testing of plastics welds, general requirements, parameter settings, the inspection procedure and the test report.
It applies to A-scan pulse-echo ultrasonic testing of welded joints in pipes and sheets of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, polyvinylidene fluoride, polytetrafluoroethylene and other thermoplastics, where the joints have been made by hot-gas welding, extrusion welding or hot-plate welding. It was issued on 10 October 2015 and took effect on 1 March 2016.
