1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, inspection methods, marking, packaging, transport and storage of universal involute measuring instruments.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions given in GB/T 10095.1-2008 and GB/T 17163-2008, together with the following, apply to this document.

3.1 Universal involute measuring instrument

A gear measuring instrument working on the comparison principle, in which a mechanical mechanism moves the corresponding sensor relative to the gear under test so as to generate a theoretical involute, the sensor taking readings during the movement and plotting an error curve. It is used to measure the profile deviation of involute cylindrical gears.

4 Types and basic parameters

4.1 Types

The type of the instrument and the names of its main parts are shown in Figure 1. The figure is illustrative and does not show the detailed construction.
