1 Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, inspection methods, marking and packaging of universal gear measuring instruments.

3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions given in GB/T 10095.1-2008 and GB/T 10095.2-2008, together with the following, apply to this document.

3.1 Universal gear measuring instrument

A measuring instrument that takes the axis of the gear under test as the datum, locates the gear between an upper and a lower centre, and uses dial-type instruments to measure the pitch deviation and base pitch deviation of gears and worm wheels, the span measurement over teeth, the radial runout of the gear ring and the like.

4 Types and basic parameters

4.1 Types

The types of universal gear measuring instrument and the names of their main parts are shown in Figures 1 and 2. The figures are illustrative and do not show the detailed construction.
