HG/T 4847-2015 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for waterborne alkyd resin coatings. It fixes their requirements and the associated test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage. The coatings covered are water-based paints whose main film former is an aqueous alkyd resin or a modified alkyd resin, and which form their film by oxidative drying. Such paints serve the general protection of metal surfaces, wood and similar substrates. The text is applied with a broad set of paint standards, among them GB/T 1730-2007, GB/T 1766-2008, GB/T 6753.1-2007, GB/T 9754-2007, GB/T 13491 and GB 18582-2008, and it carries the Chinese classification G51. Issued on 14 July 2015, it has applied since 1 January 2016.
