HG/T 4080-2009 sets out, for the Chinese chemical industry, the helium leakage test method for urea synthesis reactors. It describes the preparation for the test, the apparatus, the steps of the method, the assessment of the result and the acceptance test report. The method is meant for vertical urea synthesis towers whose shell carries a lining layer, where it is used to find defects in the welds of that lining: girth welds and lining seams, the fillet welds of flanges with inlay rings, the cover and inlay ring joints, the nozzle corner joints and the other penetration welds of the lined equipment. GB 150, GB/T 9842 and JB/T 4730.5 are cited. Issued on 5 February 2009, it has applied since 1 July 2009.
