HG/T 4079-2009 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard holding the inspection and evaluation rules for the surface quality of polished metals. It states the general requirements for inspecting a polished metal surface, the rules by which such a surface is inspected and rated, and the requirements for protecting it afterwards. It applies to the inspection of polished inner and outer surfaces of steel vessels, such as poly(vinyl chloride) polymerization reactors, polyether reactors and rubber mixing vessels, together with their matching heat exchangers and other equipment; polished surfaces on similar equipment may also be inspected by reference to it. Surface texture and roughness comparison documents are quoted: GB/T 1031-1995, GB/T 3505-2000, GB/T 6060.1, GB/T 6060.2 and GB/T 6060.4. Issued on 5 February 2009, it has applied since 1 July 2009.
