Foreword

This standard replaces GB/T 15006-1994, General rules of dimensions, shape, surface quality, test method and inspection for elastic alloys.

Compared with GB/T 15006-1994, the main changes of this standard are as follows:

- the clause "Normative references" has been added;

- the provision "for untrimmed strip thicker than 1.80 mm, the permissible width deviation may depart from Table 1 by agreement between supplier and purchaser" has been added (1.1.1 of the 1994 edition, 3.1.1 of this edition);

- in Tables 1 and 2, the permissible deviations of strip and cold-drawn wire with a thickness or diameter not greater than 1.80 mm have been unified to 3 decimal places;

- "cold-drawn bars of rectangular cross-section may be supplied by agreement between supplier and purchaser" has been changed to "cold-drawn bars of other cross-sectional shapes may be supplied by agreement between supplier and purchaser" (1.3.3 of the 1994 edition, 3.3.3 of this edition);

- in Table 4, the permissible deviations of hot-rolled and hot-forged material are listed separately (Table 4 of the 1994 edition, Table 4 of this edition);

- "hot-rolled rounds with a nominal diameter of 6.0 mm to 9.0 mm shall be delivered in coils" has been changed to "hot-rolled rounds with a nominal diameter of 6.0 mm to 12.0 mm are generally delivered in coils" (1.4.2.1 of the 1994 edition, 3.4.2.1 of this edition);

- the camber of hot-rolled material delivered in straight lengths has been changed from "not greater than 6 mm/m" to "not greater than 5 mm/m" (1.4.2.2 of the 1994 edition, 3.4.2.2 of this edition);

- to "slight scratches, and pits, pitting and straightening marks with a depth not exceeding half the tolerance of the nominal diameter, are permitted on the surface of cold-drawn bars" the requirement "but the minimum dimension of the bar shall be guaranteed" has been added (2.3 of the 1994 edition, 4.3 of this edition);

- in Table 5, the test methods for the inspection items "Vickers hardness", "cupping test" and "wrapping test" have been changed from "YB 53-64", "YB 38-64" and "YB 37-65" to the current standards "GB/T 4340.1", "GB/T 4156" and "GB/T 2976"; the inspection item "non-metallic inclusions" has been added, with the test method according to GB/T 10561.
