Scope

HG/T 3870-2008 is the English-translated version of 硫化橡胶溶胀指数测定方法.

The determination of the swelling index of vulcanized rubber is the subject of HG/T 3870-2008, a recommended standard of the Chinese chemical industry. It sets out the test method by which that index is measured, the index being used to follow the degree of cure reached by a rubber. It applies to natural and synthetic rubber vulcanizates at the various stages of vulcanization commonly met in practice. Conditioning and the preparation of the test pieces follow GB/T 2941 and GB/T 6038. The standard supersedes the 2006 edition HG/T 3870-2006. Issued on 1 February 2008, it has applied since 1 July 2008.
