Scope
HG/T 3837-2008 is the English-translated version of 橡胶 总烃含量的测定 热解法.
HG/T 3837-2008 is the recommended chemical industry standard of China for determining the total hydrocarbon content of rubber by pyrolysis. The sample is thermally decomposed and the hydrocarbon fraction is then measured, the standard fixing how this is done and how the content is expressed. It applies to natural and synthetic polyisoprene rubber, polybutadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, acrylic rubber, ethylene-propylene-diene and ethylene-propylene rubbers and polyether rubber, whether used alone or in blends, and whether in the form of raw rubber, compound or vulcanizate. It is a modified adoption of BS 7164-13-1994 and quotes GB/T 3516, GB/T 6682, GB/T 15340 and GB/T 17783. The standard replaces HG/T 3837-2006. Issued on 1 February 2008, it has applied since 1 July 2008.
