Abrasion under slipping conditions is the property addressed by HG/T 3836-2008, a recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for vulcanized rubber. It prescribes the test method carried out on a Grasselli type abrasion machine, in which the specimen slides against the abrading surface and the loss of material is measured. The method serves for the determination of the sliding abrasion of vulcanized rubber generally. GB/T 6038 and GB/T 533 are quoted alongside it, and the standard is classified G40 in the Chinese system and 83.060 internationally. It is the successor to HG/T 3836-2006. Issued on 1 February 2008, it has applied since 1 July 2008.
