GB/Z 26958.40-2011 is the part of the Chinese GPS filtration series that lays down the basic concepts of morphological profile filters, the filters used on a measured surface profile when the interest is the envelope of the profile rather than its average.
It defines the morphological operations themselves - dilation and erosion as the two basic operations, opening and closing as the two derived ones - and then the morphological filter as a monotonically increasing and idempotent operation, the envelope filter that outputs the upper envelope from a closing filter and the lower envelope from an opening filter, and the Minkowski addition and subtraction on which all of this rests.
It is the vocabulary that the following parts of GB/Z 26958 on disc and horizontal line segment filters and on scale space techniques build upon, and it is used with the terms of GB/T 18780.1 and GB/Z 26958.1. It is identical to ISO/TS 16610-40:2006.

3 Terms and definitions
GB/T 18780.1-2002, GB /Z 26958.1-2011 defined and the following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Morphological operation
Binary operations on two geometry objects to get the operation of another geometry object.
Note that swelling and erosion are two basic morphological manipulations, with open and closed operations being two sub-morphological manipulations.
3.2 Morphological filter
Monotonically increasing and idempotent morphological operations.
3.3 Envelope filter
Enter the contour or surface output envelope of the closed filter or open filter.
Note: The closed filter produces the upper envelope; the open filter produces the lower envelope.
3.4 Minkovski and Minkowskiaddition
Vector sum of two specific geometric sequence points.
3.5 Minkovski difference Minkowskisubtraction
Use Minkovsky and the binary operations defined for two-geometry sequences.
Note that it is the complement of the Minkovsky sum of the first sequence and the second sequence.
