Scope

GB/T 26958.60-2023 is the English-translated version of 产品几何技术规范(GPS)滤波 第60部分:线性区域滤波器 基本概念.

GB/T 26958.60-2023 is the part of the GB/T 26958 filtration series that fixes the basic concepts for linear areal filters, the filters used to separate a measured surface into the long-wave and short-wave components from which roughness, waviness and form are each read. After the scope, the normative references and the terms, which build on the ISO 16610 filtration vocabulary, clause 4 sets out the basic concepts and clause 5 treats the linear region filters themselves. Three informative appendices follow: a conceptual diagram, the relationship with the filter matrix model, and the relationship with the GPS matrix model, which is how a filtration part is tied back to the wider geometrical product specification framework. The reason a concepts part exists is practical: the filter model, the filter parameters, the transmission characteristics, the way long-wave and short-wave components are separated, extracted and reconstructed, and the handling of end effects at the limits of a measured area have all been described inconsistently, so two laboratories measuring the same surface can report different texture values with neither making an error of its own. Useful to metrology laboratories, to makers of surface measuring instruments and analysis software, and to engineers who call up filtered surface parameters on drawings.

This document specifies the basic concepts of linear domain filters.
