Scope

GB/Z 18620.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 检验实施规范 第1部分:圆柱齿轮齿面的测量.

GB/Z 18620.1-2025, identical to ISO/TR 10064-1:2019, is Part 1 of the Chinese code of inspection practice and deals with measuring the tooth flanks of individual involute cylindrical gears, supplementing GB/T 10095.1-2022.

It sets conventions such as the reference axis and the numbering of flanks and pitches, explains types of measuring equipment, calibration and recommended procedures, and covers the inspection of very large gears with portable devices.

Profile, helix, pitch and radial runout measurements are analysed and interpreted, including the recognition of common machining errors, alongside single-flank composite testing, flank, roughness and root fillet measurements, filtering and additional calculations.

Measurement with double-flank rolling testers is excluded. It replaces GB/Z 18620.1-2008 and was issued on 3 December 2025.

The type has been changed from ISO technical reports to my country's national standardization guidance technical documents.

Introduction

GB /Z 18620 (all parts) is a supporting document for GB/T 10095 (all parts), which defines the most... A new gear accuracy grade evaluation system has been established, and GB /Z 18620 (all parts) provides the corresponding gear accuracy measurement methods and precautions.

The GB /Z 18620 standard series is divided into several parts, which put forward specific specifications and requirements for different aspects of gear inspection.

GB /Z 18620 "Inspection Implementation Specification" is proposed to consist of the following six parts.

---Part 1: Measurement of Cylindrical Gear Tooth Surfaces. The purpose is to describe the inspection methods and requirements for the tooth surfaces on the same side of cylindrical gear teeth, in order to... Ensure that the quality and performance of the gears meet the prescribed technical standards.

---Part 2: Inspection of Radial Combined Deviation, Radial Runout, Tooth Thickness, and Backlash. The purpose is to describe the radial combined deviation of cylindrical gears.

Inspection methods for deviation, radial runout, tooth thickness, and backlash are crucial parameters for gear accuracy and performance.

---Part 3: Inspection of Gear Blank, Shaft Center Distance, and Axis Parallelism. The purpose is to describe the parallelism of the gear blank, shaft center distance, and axis.

The inspection method for the gear's runout is described, and recommended values are given to ensure that the quality and performance of the gear meet the predetermined technical requirements.

---Part 4: Inspection of Surface Structure and Tooth Contact Pattern. The purpose is to describe the surface structure and tooth contact pattern of cylindrical gears.

The methods for inspecting spots are important for evaluating the durability and performance stability of gears.

---Part 5: Evaluation of Gear Measuring Instruments. The purpose is to describe the principles and calibration of various gear measuring devices, as well as their uncertainties. The assessment.

---Part 6: Bevel Gear Measurement. The purpose is to describe a special method for measuring the precision of bevel gears.

GB /Z 18620 (all parts) provides detailed guidance and specifications for the design, manufacture, and inspection of gears, ensuring the quality of gear products. Quality and reliability.

1 Scope

This document provides supplementary content to GB/T 10095.1-2022. It provides methods for tooth surface measurement of individual involute cylindrical gears.

The implementation specifications (for measuring tooth pitch, tooth profile, helix, and tangential composite characteristics) explain the principle of the measuring device and provide specific guidelines for tooth... Suggestions on wheel measurement methods and result analysis, and attempts to interpret the measurement results.

This document applies only to the measurement of involute gears and does not include measurements using a dual-tooth-surface meshing measuring instrument (see ISO /T R10064-2).
