Scope
GB/Z 163.4-2025 is the English-translated version of 高压直流系统 交流滤波器规范和设计评估导则 第4部分:设备.
Modified from IEC TR 62001-4:2021, GB/Z 163.4-2025 is the equipment part of the Chinese guidance series on AC filters for HVDC systems. It gives the basis for rating AC filters and their components: steady-state ratings and the calculation method behind them, transient stresses and ratings from switching and fault studies, insulation coordination and losses. Further clauses discuss design issues and special filters, redundancy and spares, protection of banks, sub-banks and components, audible noise, and seismic requirements. The final clause sets design and test parameters for capacitors, reactors, resistors, surge arresters, current transformers and switchgear, referring to Chinese standards such as GB/T 11032 and GB/T 20840.2. It applies to line-commutated converter schemes and uses the terms of GB/Z 163.1-2025. It was issued on 3 December 2025.

1 Scope
This document provides basic data for determining the AC filters and components of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) system, such as steady-state settings, transient stresses, and... It provides guidance on setpoints, losses, design issues and special applications, protection, audible noise, seismic requirements, equipment design and test parameters.
This document applies to the suppression of harmonic distortion and audible sensitive frequency interference in high-voltage direct current systems employing grid-commutated converters (LCCs).
AC-side filters are not suitable for power line carrier (PLC) and radio interference spectrum. Voltage source converter (VSC) based filters... The AC filter for high-voltage DC systems should be used as a reference.
Note: High-voltage DC based on voltage source converter (VSC) is also called flexible DC.
