Scope

GB/Z 137.1-2025 is the English-translated version of 健康信息学 3D人体位置系统表示的分类结构 第1部分:骨骼.

GB/Z 137.1-2025, identical to ISO/TS 23541-1:2021, is a Chinese national guidance document on representing the human skeleton with 3D data in health information systems.

Written from a terminology point of view, it sets out the high-level concepts and categories needed to describe 3D human body data, the representational relationships that link those data to a terminology system, and use cases.

It supports the analysis, development and management of terminology in the human body position system (HBPS), with applications such as clinical findings, symptoms, problem lists and procedures.

The 3D data structures themselves, implementation methods and software functions are outside its scope. It is Part 1 of GB/Z 137, whose planned Part 2 addresses human movement. Issued on 3 December 2025, it has applied since 3 December 2025.

Foreword

This document is a standard or guiding technical document.

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting.

This document is Part 1 of GB /Z 137 "Classification Structure of 3D Human Position System Representation in Health Informatics". GB /Z 137 has been... The following sections have been published.

---Part 1: Skeleton This document is equivalent to ISO /T S23541-1.2021 "Health Informatics - 3D Human Position System Representation - Classification Structure - Part 1" The document type, "Skeleton," has been changed from an ISO technical specification to a national standardization guidance technical document of my country.

The following minimal editorial changes have been made to this document.

---The image order has been changed;

---The format of the examples in versions 3.2.11 to 3.2.15 has been changed.

Introduction

Anatomical descriptions are often abstract and require lengthy narratives, which can easily lead to ambiguity and inconsistent coding.

Furthermore, text-based expression lacks expressiveness and accuracy, making it difficult to fully capture and reuse medical information, especially in the context of mutual... There are also many problems in terms of operability, and there is currently no unified way to express anatomical concepts.

However, recent advancements in imaging technology have brought about significant changes to this field. Take CT scans as an example; their spatial resolution... It has reached within 1mm. In terms of accuracy and expressiveness, the gap between medical imaging and clinical terminology is widening over time.

The symptoms are becoming increasingly smaller. Because standard terminology cannot provide visual information, patients also face difficulties in understanding their own condition.

To enhance the expressiveness of medical information, healthcare professionals are exploring the introduction of 3D data into the medical field. For example, medical staff will use 3D... The system is designed for use in radiotherapy for tumors, achieving the optimal intensity required for treatment without damaging adjacent normal tissues. Additionally... In addition, 3D navigation technology is also widely used in surgical procedures, such as joint replacement surgery, where 3D technology is used for preoperative design and simulation.

To ensure the smooth conduct of the surgery, researchers are also exploring the use of technologies such as 3D printing to simulate surgical strategies, and augmented reality (AR).

3D systems can accurately transmit the spatial information of the human body, which is why 3D systems can accurately transmit the spatial information of the human body.

When 3D data is applied to medical informatics, a standardized terminology base will provide better expressiveness, accuracy, and comparability. Furthermore, due to anatomical... Information is crucial for disease description in clinical medicine, so 3D data enhances the accuracy and expressiveness of clinical terminology. 3D data, through... Mathematical functions process digital information, providing greater computability for research, software production, and artificial intelligence.

3D systems offer a precise way to represent anatomical concepts. Accurate data can improve electronic medical record systems and epidemiological analysis.

Data exchange between them. Improved accuracy also means that clinical decision support systems will be more reliable, ensuring patient safety and reducing medical risks.

This reduces errors and improves work efficiency. Furthermore, 3D systems can provide visual information for medical staff and patients, whereas traditional standard terminology systems do not.

It is intended for use in electronic health records, personal health records, and medical research.

HBPS is a method for expressing clinical concepts by combining 3D data and text-based terminology. Although the primary use of 3D technology... The purpose is graphical representation, but due to its precise anatomical concept, it can function as terminology in many ways. In the semantic terminology system... In China, 3D technology possesses properties similar to code. Like traditional terminology, it can be coordinated either before or after the code is coordinated. Because... Data in 3D systems is purely digital, making it easier to capture and retrieve than semantic medical information.

GB /Z 137 "Classification Structure of 3D Human Position System Representation in Health Informatics" is proposed to consist of two parts.

---Part 1: Skeleton. The aim is to describe, from a terminological perspective, the high-level structures required to represent 3D data in health information systems. concept.

---Part 2: Human Movement. The aim is to provide a terminology for representing human movement, starting from the essence of constructing a standard language system.

The study aims to establish categories and relationships of human motion over time based on text-based terminology and 3D data.
