GB/T 9700-2009 is the English-translated version of 盐湿猪皮检验方法.
GB/T 9700-2009 is the Chinese national method for inspecting wet salted pig skin.
It gives the terms used to describe hide faults - defects, mechanical injury, stab wounds, brand injury, scraper marks and knife holes - and then covers sampling, the inspection itself, how the test results are judged, and packaging, marking, storage and transport, together with the quarantine and health requirements that apply.
Sampling follows GB/T 2828.1, and the standard also draws on the rules for the biosafety handling of animal products and for the disinfection of livestock and poultry products.
Inspection and quarantine bodies and hide traders use it to judge wet salted pig skin in the same way. It replaces GB/T 9700-1988, was issued on 26 May 2009 and has applied since 1 October 2009.
