Scope

GB/T 9107-2023 is the English-translated version of 精制棉.

GB/T 9107-2023 is the Chinese national product standard for refined cotton, the cotton cellulose made from cotton linters by cooking, bleaching and similar processes.

It fixes the product designation, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the marking, packaging, transport, storage and delivery, with separate performance tables for refined cotton for cellulose acetate, for cellulose ether and for nitrocellulose, and requirements for foreign fibres, impurities, dust degree, bursting strength and the basis weight and thickness of roll and sheet products.

Its test clause covers intrinsic viscosity, alpha-cellulose content, moisture content, moisture absorption, ash, sulfuric-acid-insoluble matter, whiteness, iron content and acetone-soluble matter, and informative appendices give the degree of polymerization and viscosity ranges and how to prepare cuprammonium solution.

It replaces GB/T 9107-1999 and was issued on 23 May 2023, applying from the same day.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting.

This document replaces GB/T 9107-1999 "Refined Cotton". Compared with GB/T 9107-1999, except for structural adjustments and editorial changes In addition, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope has been changed. the scope of application has been changed from alkaline cooking to cooking (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the 1999 edition);

b) Added product form (see 4.1.2), changed specifications (see 4.2, 3.2.2 of the 1999 edition), and model composition (see 4.4, 1999 edition version 3.2);

c) Added foreign fibers for refined cotton floc products (see 5.1), impurities for refined cotton floc products (see 5.2), and refined cotton roll (sheet) products The degree of dust (see 5.3), the bursting strength of refined cotton products (see 5.4) and the basis weight and thickness of refined cotton roll (sheet) products (see 5.5);

d) The product models of refined cotton for cellulose acetate, refined cotton for cellulose ether, and refined cotton for nitrocellulose have been added, and technical changes have been made.

Technical performance indicators (see 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 4.2.1, 4.2.3, 4.2.2 of the 1999 edition);

e) Added general provisions (see 6.1), environmental requirements for sample preparation (see 6.2.1) and roll (sheet) sample preparation (see 6.2.3);

f) Determination methods are added, including intrinsic viscosity (see 6.3), acetone soluble matter (see 6.11), foreign fibers (see 6.12), impurities (see 6.13), degree of dust (see 6.14), basis weight, thickness (see 6.15), bursting strength (see 6.16);

g) Changed the inspection rules (see Chapter 7, Chapter 6 of the 1999 edition);

h) The marking, packaging, transportation and storage have been changed (see Chapter 8, Chapter 7 of the 1999 edition), and delivery has been added (see 8.5).
