Scope
GB/T 7713.2-2022 is the English-translated version of 学术论文编写规则.
GB/T 7713.2-2022 is the Chinese national rulebook for writing and laying out academic papers.
It fixes the components of a paper - the front part, the text part and the appendix part - and the format rules for numbering, quantities and units, figures, tables, numerals, mathematical formulae, notes and scientific and technical terms, with a normative annex listing the constituent elements of a paper and an informative annex on font sizes and typefaces.
Clause 1 applies it to academic papers in every form of communication, print, microform and electronic, and adds that a discipline or field may use it as the basis for its own writing rules.
Its introduction states that it takes over the academic-paper format of GB/T 7713-1987, which it partially replaces. It was issued on 30 December 2022 and has applied since 1 July 2023.
