Scope

GB/T 6670-2026 is the English-translated version of 软质泡沫聚合材料 落球法回弹性能的测定.

Determination of resilience by ball rebound for flexible cellular polymeric materials is covered by this recommended national standard. The ball rebound approach gauges how elastic a foam is, which affects comfort and support in cushioning applications. It adopts an international standard.

Foam manufacturers, makers of mattresses, furniture and vehicle seating, quality control teams and testing laboratories use methods of this kind to compare materials and to check production lots. It replaces GB/T 6670-2008, so test reports and specifications that cite the earlier edition should be revised.

As a GB/T document it is recommended rather than mandatory in China, but buyers and suppliers frequently cite it in specifications so that results are reported on a common basis. It was issued on 30 July 2026 under the responsibility of the China National Light Industry Council and takes effect on 1 February 2027.
