Scope

GB/T 5831-2011 is the English-translated version of 气体中微量氧的测定 比色法.

GB/T 5831-2011 sets out a colorimetric method for trace oxygen in gases.

Clause 1 states that the standard specifies the colorimetric determination of trace oxygen in gases and that it applies to the determination of the oxygen content of hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, neon, krypton, xenon, methane and other gases that do not react with the monovalent copper ammonia complex ion and with ammonia, over a measuring range of 0.5 x 10^-6 to 1000 x 10^-6 as a volume fraction.

Clause 2, principle of the method, has the oxygen of the sample gas react quantitatively, inside a sealed analyzer, with a colourless monovalent copper ammonia solution to give a blue divalent copper ammonia solution, which is then matched visually against standard gradations; the gradation matched gives the amount of oxygen and hence the oxygen content of the sample gas as a volume fraction.

The same clause states that 1 mL of 0.05 mol/L copper sulfate solution is equivalent to 0.300 mL of oxygen at 20 degrees C and 101.3 kPa, and gives formula (1), by which the amount of oxygen corresponding to each standard gradation is 0.300 times the volume of that copper sulfate solution added.

Clause 3, instrument and apparatus, describes the assembly of analyzer, reservoir bottle and suction bottle shown in Figure A.1 of Appendix A and the oxygen analyzer shown in Figure A.2, made of fired hard glass with a wall thickness of 1 mm to 2 mm and chosen by the expected oxygen content of the sample gas: not less than 3000 mL below 5 x 10^-6, not less than 1500 mL below 100 x 10^-6 and about 500 mL below 1000 x 10^-6, all as volume fractions.

The clause then gives formula (2) for the analyzer volume obtained by weighing it full of water, and the draft version on the page breaks off there, so the reagents, procedure and calculation are not shown.

The foreword records that the general considerations clause of the 1986 edition was removed, that its Appendix B with the standard gradation table was moved into the body, that the appendix with the gas volume correction coefficient K was removed and that the non-statutory units of measurement were replaced with legal ones.

The page gives ICS 71.040.40 and Chinese classification G86, and the standard is centralized by the National Standardization Technical Committee on Gas (SAC/TC206).

It replaces GB/T 5831-1986, was issued on 2011-12-30 and has applied since 2012-10-01.

Foreword

In accordance with this standard GB/T 1.1-2009 given rule drafting.

This standard replaces GB/T 5831-1986 "Determination of trace oxygen gas colorimetry." Compared with GB/T 5831-1986, in addition to knitting Series modifications outside the main technical changes are as follows.

--- Remove the general considerations (see the 1986 version of Chapter 7);

--- The 1986 version of Appendix B (series standard gradation table) was transferred to the text (see 53, 1986 edition of Appendix B.);

--- Remove the appendix "gas volume correction coefficient K value table" (see the 1986 edition of Appendix C);

--- The 1986 version of the non-statutory units of measurement is amended as legal units of measurement.

The standard proposed by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the colorimetric determination of trace gases oxygen.

This standard applies to hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, neon, krypton, xenon, methane and other gases does not occur with a monovalent copper ammonia complex ion and ammonia reactions Determination of oxygen content. Measuring range. 0.5 x 10^-6 ~ 1000 x 10^-6 (volume fraction).

2 Principle of the method

In a sealed analyzer sample gas oxygen colorless monovalent copper ammonia solution quantitatively reacted with divalent copper blue ammonia solution, and standard Levels Associate visual colorimetric. Than by the colorimetric selected standard color gamut equivalent to the amount of oxygen in the sample gas is the volume of oxygen in the sample gas The content (volume fraction). Monovalent copper reacts with the oxygen is as follows.

[Cu2 (NH3) 4] Cl2 2NH4OH 2NH4Cl 1/2O2 = 2 [Cu (NH3) 4] Cl2 3H2O

According to the reaction equation, 0.05mol/L copper sulfate solution 1mL equivalent to 20 °C, under 101.3kPa state 0.300mL oxygen.

Distinguished by the color scale and reasonable gradation difference with 0.05mol/L sulfate standard solutions prepared in different amounts Levels. Each standard Quasi-Levels equivalent amount of oxygen according to equation (1).

V1 = 0.300V2 (1)

Where.

Vl --- standard gradation corresponding to the amount of oxygen in milliliters (mL of);

--- Volume V2 of each standard solution was added Levels of 0.05mol/L of copper sulfate solution, in milliliters (mL).

3 Instrument, apparatus

3.1 Device

Recommended by the analyzer means, reservoir bottles, suction bottles composition, see Appendix A in Figure A.1.

3.2 Oxygen analyzer

Analyzer and processed refer size See Appendix A in Figure A.2.

Analyzer firing hard glass, glass wall thickness of 1mm ~ 2mm.

Volume analyzer (1,2,6 closed closed volume after the piston) is determined by the oxygen content of the sample gas. When the sample gas oxygen content When less than 5 x 10^-6 (volume fraction), the volume of the analyzer is not less than 3000mL; when the sample gas oxygen content of less than 100 x 10^-6 (body Integral number), the volume of the analyzer is not less than 1500mL; when the sample gas oxygen content of less than 1000 x 10^-6 (volume fraction), analysis The volume of about 500mL.

Volume analyzer with the weighing method for the determination of water, after adding to one decimal place, the volume V3 (mL) is calculated by the formula (2).

V3 = (G2-G1)/rho t (2)
