Scope

GB/T 5587-2016 is the English-translated version of 银基电触头基本形状、尺寸、符号及标注.

GB/T 5587-2016 fixes the basic shapes, dimensions, symbols and notations of silver based electrical contacts. Clause 1 states that the standard specifies the basic shape, size, symbol and marking of silver-based electrical contacts and that it applies to low-voltage electrical appliances with silver-based electrical contacts.

Clause 3, the basic shape and size of silver-based electrical contacts, is split into 3.1 for plane, arc and spherical sheet electrical contacts and 3.2 for plane and spherical rivet type electrical contacts; 3.1.1 refers the basic shapes to a run of figures, of which the page shows the captions for the planar and spherical circular flaky contacts and for the planar and curved trapezoidal sheet contacts, and the draft version then breaks off.

The table of contents gives clause 4 as silver-based electrical contacts and symbols, with 4.1 on the representative symbol and 4.2 on the size, and the informative Appendix A as the recommended sizes of plane, arc and spherical sheet electrical contacts, but the page prints none of their text.

Clause 2 cites GB/T 1800.1-2009 and GB/T 1804-2000.

The foreword records three changes against the 2003 edition: the content on three composite rivet type electrical contacts was added in 3.2.2, the recommended sizes of the flat and spherical rivet-type contact heads were modified in Table 2, and examples of symbols and notations for silver and fine silver were added in Table 5.

It also states that the standard was proposed by China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and is under the jurisdiction of the National Electrotechnical Standardization Technical Committee (SAC/TC228).

Foreword

This standard is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

The standard instead of GB/T 5587-2003 "silver-based electrical contact basic shape, size, symbols and labeling." This standard and GB/T 5587-2003 compared to the main changes are as follows.

--- Added the contents of the three composite rivet type electrical contacts (see 3.2.2);

--- modified flat and spherical rivet-type electrical contact head recommended size (see Table 2);

--- Examples of symbols and annotations for adding silver and fine silver (see Table 5).

1 Scope

This standard specifies the basic shape, size, symbol and marking of silver-based electrical contacts.

This standard applies to low-voltage electrical appliances with silver-based electrical contacts.
