1 Scope
GB/T 2099.10-2026 is the Chinese national standard covering the British-pattern 13 A plug and socket used in Hong Kong - the fused plug, the shuttered socket and the dimensions that differ from the mainland pattern, brought into the national standard series as a part of its own. First edition of this part, 19,000 words, in force since 1 October 2026. It was issued on 31 March 2026 and takes effect on 1 October 2026, as a first edition. This document specifies the classification, main technical parameters, technical requirements, and electrical protection requirements for plugs and sockets applicable to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage, and corresponding test methods are described. This document applies to electrical plugs used in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for household and similar purposes, with electrical protection functions, and intended for long-term use. Socket (hereinafter referred to as "portable electrical accessories"). Note

4 Classification and main technical parameters
4.1 Classification Portable electrical accessories are classified according to their electrical protection type as follows:
--- Equipped with overcurrent protection;
---With ground fault (residual current) protection;
--- Equipped with arc fault protection;
---It has all three of the above protections.
4.2 Main technical parameters and rated values
4.2.1 Rated Voltage The preferred rated voltage for portable electrical accessories without electronic components is 250V. The preferred rated voltage for portable electrical accessories with electronic components is 230V, 240V, or 250V. The rated voltage of the plug and socket of the extension cord should be the same, and the rated voltage of the flexible cable should not be less than the rated voltage of the plug and socket.
4.2.2 Rated Current The rated current of portable electrical accessories shall not exceed 13A.
4.2.3 Maximum operating current of electrical accessories The maximum operating current of portable electrical accessories should be a short-term withstand current that will not damage the accessories. The following options can be selected. The lowest value among the current values is taken as the maximum operating current of the electrical accessory.

4.2.4 Rated Power/Maximum Permissible Power The rated power/maximum permissible power of portable electrical accessories is calculated by multiplying the product's rated current/maximum operating current by the rated voltage and power. Calculate using a factor of 1.
4.2.5 Technical parameters of protection devices
4.2.5.1 The rated voltage of arc fault protection devices, overcurrent protection devices, and ground fault (residual current) protection devices shall not be lower than the corresponding voltage. The rated voltage and rated current of the portable electrical accessories shall be less than or equal to the rated current of the corresponding portable electrical accessories.
4.2.5.2 For arc fault protection, when a fault arc occurs in the load circuit, the arc fault protection function should, within the specified time or permissible time, [respond to the incident]. Cut off the power supply within the maximum half-wave number.
4.2.5.3 For overcurrent protection, the tripping characteristics of the overcurrent protection device should ensure sufficient protection against overcurrent without premature operation. The specified non-tripping current of a protective device should be

4.2.5.4 For ground fault (residual current) protection, the protection device should be able to detect the residual current and compare the residual current value with the residual operating current value. 5 Technical Requirements
5.1 Basic Requirements Portable electrical accessories should be designed and constructed to ensure reliable performance under normal use, and conform to GB/T 20002.4. The regulations stipulate that risks should be reduced to an acceptable level to ensure safety. Components of portable electrical accessories (such as plugs, flexible cables, fuses, electrical protection devices, etc.) should fully comply with the relevant standards for these components. It is accurate and has been verified through testing. The plugs installed on portable electrical accessories shall comply with the requirements of BS1363-1. In addition to meeting the requirements of BS1363-2, extension cord sockets shall also meet the requirements of this document. For adapters whose plug and socket dimensions conform to BS1363 type dimensions, in addition to meeting the requirements of BS1363-3, they should also meet the requirements of this document. Requirements for the item. For converters with plug dimensions conforming to BS1363-1 and socket dimensions conforming to GB 1002 type dimensions, except those conforming to GB/T 2099.3- In addition to the requirements of Appendix AA of 2022, the requirements of this document shall also be met. The portable electrical accessories described in this document should simultaneously have overcurrent protection, ground fault (residual current) protection, and arc fault protection. 5.2 Dimensions The adapter's plug size should conform to the relevant requirements of BS1363-1, and the socket size should conform to the relevant requirements of BS1363-3 and/or GB 1002. 5.3 Protection against electric shock Portable electrical accessories should be designed such that, when installed and wired according to normal usage requirements, their structure prevents live parts from being easily touched. 5.4 Grounding Measures For converters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 type dimensions, their grounding measures shall comply with section 11 of BS1363-3.2023. 5.5 Terminals and Endcaps For adapters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 standard dimensions, their terminals and fittings shall conform to section [section number missing] of BS1363-3.2023. 5.6 Structure
5.6.1 Basic Requirements The socket portion of the converter should not exceed 3 positions. For adapters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 type dimensions, their structure shall comply with Chapter 13 of BS1363-3.2023. Requirements of Chapter 14. For converters with plug dimensions conforming to BS1363-1 and socket dimensions conforming to GB 1002 type dimensions, their structure should conform to BS1363-3. Applicable requirements of Chapter 13 of GB/T 2023 and Chapter 14 of GB/T 2099.3-2022. For extension cord sockets, the structure of the socket shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 14 of BS1363-2.2023. The inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the test specified in 7.6.1.
5.6.2 USB Power Supply If the socket on the portable electrical accessory is equipped with USB power, it should meet the requirements of GB/T 2099.31 or BS1363-2.2023. The applicable requirements specified in A.2 or A.3 of BS1363-3.2023. The inspection shall be carried out in accordance with the test specified in 7.6.2.
5.6.3 Additional requirements for extension cord sockets
5.6.3.1 Extension Cord Socket The extension cord socket should be one of the following.
b) With or without a switch.
c) With or without indicator lights.
d) With or without a USB charging socket.
e) With or without surge protection.
f) Whether the IP rating is marked. Extension cord sockets with marked IP ratings are divided into two categories. - Portable sockets with IP rating when plugged in; - Extension cord socket with IP rating only when no plug is inserted. Sufficient distance should be left between two adjacent outlets of a multi-position movable socket to allow for the insertion of adjacent plugs without them overlapping. The minimum distance between two adjacent sockets, that is, from the right edge of the L-pole socket hole of one socket to the left edge of the N-pole socket hole of the next socket. The distance between the edges should be 22mm. Perform the inspection according to the method specified in 7.6.3.1.
5.6.3.2 Flexible cable The type, length, and nominal cross-sectional area of the conductor of the extension cord socket should conform to the specifications in Table 1. The socket should be connected with a flexible cable according to Table
1.The manufacturer should indicate the wiring cross-sectional area on the product body and/or packaging unit.
5.7 Aging resistance, protection and moisture protection provided by the casing. Portable electrical accessories should be resistant to aging, able to withstand moisture that may occur during normal use, and provide protection in accordance with their IP rating. Protection. This includes protection against the entry of hazardous components, protection against the harmful effects of solid objects, and protection against the harmful effects of water. For adapters whose plugs and sockets conform to BS1363 standard dimensions, their aging resistance, protection provided by the housing, and moisture resistance should meet the following requirements. Requirements of Chapter 15 in BS1363-3.2023. For converters with plug dimensions conforming to BS1363-1 and socket dimensions conforming to GB 1002 type dimensions, their aging resistance and the properties provided by the housing are required. For extension cord sockets, the socket's resistance to aging, the protection provided by the casing, and the moisture resistance should comply with Chapter 15 of BS1363-2.2023. Require. 5.8 Insulation resistance and electrical strength Portable electrical accessories should be able to pass high-voltage tests and withstand temporary high voltage without flashover or insulation breakdown. For converters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 standard dimensions, their insulation resistance and electrical strength shall conform to BS1363-3. Requirements of Chapter 16 in 2023. 5.9 Temperature rise For converters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 type dimensions, their temperature rise should comply with Chapter 17 of BS1363-3.2023. Require. For converters with plug dimensions conforming to BS1363-1 and socket dimensions conforming to GB 1002 type dimensions, their temperature rise should comply with GB/T 2099.3- Requirements of Chapter 19 in 2022. For extension cord sockets, the temperature rise of the socket should meet the requirements of Chapter 17 of BS1363-2.2023. The test shall be performed in accordance with the test specified in 7.9.
5.10 Breaking capacity The breaking capacity of the socket contacts and switches included in portable electrical accessories should be sufficient. For converters whose plugs and sockets conform to the BS1363 type dimensions, their breaking capacity shall comply with section 18 of BS1363-3.2023. The requirements of the chapter. 5.11 Normal Operation Portable electrical accessories should be able to withstand the mechanical, electrical, and thermal stresses that occur during use without excessive wear or other harmful effects.
