1 Scope

GB/T 44785-2024 specifies the data of the Chinese electronic business licence, the digitally signed credential that has replaced the paper licence as the primary proof of a company's legal existence in China and that is now used to authenticate a business to government services, banks and platforms. Because so much depends on it, the data it carries has to be defined exactly. The standard sets the information model and then describes each indicator in detail: the licensing information, that is the registered particulars of the entity, its unified social credit code, name, type, domicile, legal representative, capital, business scope and term; the record of the licensing event; the filling and authorisation information; and the electronic signature and validity data by which the licence is verified. For any system that must accept, verify or store a Chinese electronic business licence, and for any foreign counterparty that needs to read one, this is the definition of what the credential contains. It takes effect on 1 May 2025.

This document specifies the information model of the electronic business license and gives the Chinese name, English abbreviation, description and other information items of the information model. 3 Terms and Definitions
