GB/T 44709-2024 is the Chinese national standard covering the scenic area whose visitors are out on open tour roads when a storm arrives — the basic requirements on the managing organisation, the lightning monitoring and the imminent warning that buys the time to move people under cover, the protection measures, the safety signs, the testing of the lightning protection devices, the inspection and maintenance, and the emergency plan and the coordinated disaster investigation set out in the annexes. First edition, under the China Meteorological Administration. In force from 1 May 2025. Issued on 26 October 2024, it has been in force since 1 May 2025.

Technical Specifications for Lightning Disaster Prevention in Tourist Scenic Areas

1 Scope

This document stipulates the basic requirements for lightning disaster prevention in tourist attractions, as well as lightning monitoring and approaching warning, lightning protection measures, and lightning protection measures.

The requirements for safety signs and lightning protection device testing describe the corresponding inspection, maintenance and improvement methods.

This document applies to lightning disaster prevention in tourist attractions.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions are applicable.

3.1 tourist attraction

The main function is to meet the purpose of tourists' travel (including sightseeing, aesthetic experience, leisure and vacation, recreation and fitness, etc.), and have Corresponding tourism service facilities and independent management areas providing corresponding tourism services.
