GB/T 33678-2017 is the English-translated version of VLF-LF三维闪电定位网技术规范.
GB/T 33678-2017 is the Chinese technical specification for a VLF-LF three-dimensional lightning location network, the band being radio waves from 3 kHz to 300 kHz.
It covers the network itself, with its general requirements, system structure, communication network, positioning algorithm, technical requirements and networking requirements, then the lightning detection station, with its composition, functions, technical indices, environmental adaptability, installation and lightning protection, and the data processing centre with its processing flow.
Further clauses fix quality control of the detectors and of the processing centre, and the tests on a lightning detector: appearance, self test, consistency comparison, static detection and environmental adaptability.
It applies to the manufacture, construction, testing and operation of such networks. It was issued on 12 May 2017 and has applied since 1 December 2017.

The band is from 3 kHz to 300 kHz radio waves.
