1 Scope

GB/T 44643-2024 standardises the signs and markings used in electrical emergencies. During an incident at a substation or on a network - a fire, a flood, a storm restoration - the people arriving include crews from other regions and emergency services who are not electrical workers, working at night, under time pressure, in an installation they have never seen. What they must find immediately is where the isolation points are, which routes are safe, where equipment is staged and which areas must not be entered. If those markings differ between operators, the crews that arrive to help lose time exactly where time matters, and a firefighter can misread a boundary that separates safe from lethal.
