Scope
GB/T 42117-2022 is the English-translated version of 羊泰勒虫病诊断技术.
GB/T 42117-2022 sets out how theileriosis in sheep is diagnosed. It fixes the technical requirements for the clinical diagnosis and for the overall judgement, and describes two laboratory methods for the two Theileria species it names: microscopic examination of a blood smear, and a polymerase chain reaction test.
Its clinical clause lists the typical signs - depression, a persistent fever with the body temperature rising to 40 °C to 42 °C, conjunctival congestion and swelling, anaemia or yellowing of the mucous membranes, swollen, firm and tender prescapular and prefemoral lymph nodes, weight loss, and light to dark yellow urine without blood.
It covers pathogen detection, latent infection and clinical cases, requires the sampling and testing work to comply with GB 19489 on laboratory biosafety, and quotes GB/T 6682. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 July 2023.
