Scope

GB/T 41966-2022 is the English-translated version of 无缝钢管相控阵超声检测方法.

GB/T 41966-2022 is the Chinese national method for phased array ultrasonic testing of seamless steel tubes.

It specifies the instruments and equipment, the reference test blocks, the testing method, the equipment settings, the test procedure, acceptance, and records and reports, with normative annexes on inspecting longitudinal flaws in tubes whose wall thickness to outer diameter ratio is greater than 0.2 and on measuring the axial and circumferential equivalent width of the sound beam, plus an informative annex on oblique defects.

It applies to tubes with an outer diameter of not less than 6 mm and a wall thickness to outer diameter ratio of not more than 0.2, and its methods are aimed at defects that break the metallic continuity of the tube. Issued on 30 December 2022, it has applied since 1 July 2023.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting.

Introduction

As an important component of pressure piping for special equipment, seamless steel pipes are mainly used in steel pipe manufacturing, electric power, chemical equipment manufacturing and petroleum gas Natural gas pipeline laying and other industries. This document is formulated to vigorously promote phased array ultrasonic testing technology for seamless steel pipes.

In the field of non-destructive testing of seamless steel pipes, the conventional single (double) crystal echo testing technology is difficult to take into account the beam width and resolution, so there is a Low measurement efficiency, difficulty in achieving 100% coverage of the sound beam, difficulty in changing the detection angle and depth of focus, etc. Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technology Power Consumption Sub-scanning replaces part of mechanical scanning and wafer geometric splicing, which significantly reduces the complexity of scanning machinery and greatly improves the sensitivity of ultrasonic scanning.

The degree of consistency and system signal-to-noise ratio shortens the system debugging time and improves the ability and accessibility of ultrasonic nondestructive testing.

The formulation of this document is conducive to improving the detection efficiency and detection ability of seamless steel pipes, and promoting the progress of nondestructive testing technology for seamless steel pipes. Phased array ultrasonic testing method for seamless steel pipe

1 Scope

This document specifies the instruments and equipment, test blocks, testing methods, equipment settings, testing procedures, acceptance, Record and report.

This document applies to flaws in seamless steel pipes (hereinafter referred to as "steel pipes") with an outer diameter of not less than 6 mm and a ratio of wall thickness to outer diameter of not more than 0.2. phased array ultrasonic testing.

Note: The detection methods specified in this document are mainly used to detect defects that destroy the metallic continuity of steel pipes.
