GB/T 41228-2021 is the English-translated version of 棉花加工调湿通用技术要求.
GB/T 41228-2021 sets the general technical requirements for humidity control in cotton processing, the drying or humidifying of cotton fibre with thermal energy.
It applies to the moisture conditioning of seed cotton and lint cotton, covering seed cotton drying, seed cotton humidifying and lint humidification, and defines humidity control unevenness as the spread between the maximum and minimum moisture regain measured at several points and times.
It gives the technical requirements for the process, the safety and protection measures and the test methods, with typical humidity conditioning processes in a normative annex.
It refers to GB 18399 for the safety of cotton processing machinery and to GB/T 6102.2 for moisture regain testing. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 1 July 2022.

1 Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements, safety and protection, and test methods for the general technology of cotton processing and humidity control.
This document is applicable to the moisture conditioning of seed cotton and lint cotton using thermal energy during cotton processing.

3 Terms and Definitions
The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 32139-2015 and the following apply to this document.
3.1 Cotton humidity control
The process of drying or humidifying cotton fibers.
3.2 Humidity control unevenness
After a humidity adjustment, the difference between the maximum moisture regain and the minimum moisture regain measured at multiple points and multiple times.
3.3 Seed cotton drying
The process of using heat to heat up seed cotton and vaporize water to reduce the moisture regain of seed cotton fiber.
3.4 Seed cotton humidifying
The process of fully contacting seed cotton with moist air and absorbing moisture in the air to improve the moisture regain of seed cotton fiber.
3.5 Lint humidification
The lint is fully contacted with the moist air to absorb the moisture in the air to improve the moisture regain of the lint.
3.6 Moisture regain
