Scope

GB/T 41007-2021 is the English-translated version of 消费品安全 化学危害表征和暴露评估指南.

GB/T 41007-2021 gives guidance on how to characterize the chemical hazards of consumer products and how to assess consumer exposure to them. It sets out the principles, the process and the specific content and basic methods of the assessment, building on the hazard identification guidelines of GB/T 39011-2020.

The terms it defines include consumer product, chemical hazard, hazard identification, hazard characterization, exposure assessment and dose-response evaluation.

Its annexes list toxicity databases for hazardous chemical substances, give the exposure assessment models to be applied, show an example of an exposure assessment report and recommend values for human-related parameters.

It is meant for those who evaluate the chemical safety of consumer products, such as manufacturers and testing bodies. It was issued on 31 December 2021 and has applied since 31 December 2021.
